LET MY PEOPLE GO !

Throughout the history of Israel, the people were familiar with the Old Testament prophesies concerning the coming of  God's Kingdom, in which He Himself would reign in absolute justice and righteousness.

It is evidently important that the Children of Israel should be aware of those days which would lead up to the introduction of that Kingdom.....The Last Days.  Through the Scriptures, God has taught Israel many things concerning this period so that they would be aware of His needs and the conditions relating to them and the nations round about them.

After this period of introduction had begun, the Apostle Peter revealed that the various Jews on that Day of Pentecost in 30ad were not full of wine....

"but this is that which was spoken through the prophet Joel: And it shall come to pass in The Last Days saith God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh.....before the great and glorious appearing day of The Lord come".

It continued in 45ad, being confirmed by the Apostle James in his letter to the twelve tribes where he said 'You have heaped up treasure in The Last Days'.  Yet again, the writer to the Hebrews in 53ad tells them 'In these Last Days, God had spoken to us by His Son'. And finally, in 56ad with urgency the Apostle John writes to the 'little children' of Israel telling them: 'It is The Last hour'. He believed that the establishment of The Kingdom in Israel was imminent.

But then a great change takes place in 62ad. God refuses to accept the lukewarm attitude if His Children, the Jews, telling them that they will no longer be responsible for The Salvation of God, as they had been up to that time, and that they would be Spiritually blinded for a period. Because of this they would no longer be able to correctly understand or perceive God's true expression, that is, the Hebrew Scriptures.

For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.  Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.    [Acts 28:27]

God's special relationship with His children, the House of Judah, was terminated and this initial period of The Last Days would not continue. It will recommence at a time of God's choosing, because there remains much to be fulfilled which directly concerns them and their relationship with the Nations around them.

It is clear from The Scripture that much yet needs to be fulfilled in The Last Days period, so we recognise that God's withdrawal from His Children, the Jews, is only temporary. This is confirmed in two other letters, the first written by Peter shortly after 62ad, to the remaining faithful brethren when he writes in the future tense: 'there shall come in The Last Days, mockers'. Secondly, in 65ad the Apostle Paul tells us in his second letter to Timothy, also in the future tense: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come'.

The Last Days in the New Testament.  [Greek: escatav hmerav]

It is from these facts that we recognise that many of the prophesies, mostly in the O.T. concerning this period of The Last Days remain to be fulfilled. When the time comes, God has promised to remove these restraints upon His Children by again giving them Spiritual hearing and sight to perceive and understand:

Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.  Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.    [Isaiah 35:4-6]

When God does this, The Last Days will recommence. and the source of Salvation will return to The Jews. From this time on, The Last Days and the 70weeks of years defined by the Archangel Gabriel to Daniel the prophet, will run concurrently ending at the Second Coming of The Christ.

When the Apostle Paul wrote his second letter to Timothy, he knew that the prophesied period of THE LAST DAYS had been aborted due to the unbelief of Israel. However, God gave him details concerning the Spiritual depravity of people who would be alive in those days:

Section 1.  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters,  proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such  turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive  silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

This passage is addressed to Christians, but it describes men generally. It is the last recorded prophesy in The Scriptures concerning The Last Days. Many believe that the character of those described by this passage could relate to people living to-day. Paul continues by describing a special condition which would arise before He intervenes:

Section 2Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

A typical analysis of its meaning can be read here.

However, it is true to say that this statement needs all the items described to be present before we can say that The Last Days have recommenced. There are many people who claim Godliness to-day. Their faith however is hollow and misguided. They are concerned primarily with affairs of this world and do not give their mind to things above. They demand from God those Spiritual gifts which God gave as a witness to the authority of His Kingdom in Israel, the beginnings of which were also suspended in 62ad because they were part of that Kingdom in Israel.

During this present time however, the Christian lives through the Grace of God alone, by faith and not by sight. He is challenged to live by faith upon God's Word alone. He awaits the re-establishment of God's authority through His  Kingdom in Israel enlightening the whole world, when His Spirit will again be poured out upon all flesh.

If Section 1. is active to-day, Section 2. most certainly is not, except in the very limited sense of the demonic spirit attempting to counterfeit those Gifts of God described by Paul to the Corinthians.......healing, power, prophesy, tongues and their 'translation'...etc.

Without going into the Greek and Hebrew semantics of the two names: Jannes and Jambres, it can be shown that they strongly resemble names of angelic powers. Two angels of the state of Egypt which at the time of Moses was divided into upper and lower Kingdoms. We recall that God had placed an archangel Michael, to watch over the affairs of Israel. That angels, or 'princes' should oppose the will of God is shown by many examples, of which that of the opposition of the 'prince' of Persia to the archangel Gabriel is explained in Daniel 10:12-14.

These are the powers which lay behind the Egyptian magicians or magi, when they opposed the demand of God, delivered by Moses and Aaron.......'Let My People Go!'    These angelic powers oppose by attempting to belittle the actions and power of God by copying, or counterfeiting His activity. The Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, was therefore not impressed by the miraculous judgements imposed upon his country.

The passage in Section 2. tells us that this sort of man, the ones living at the time when The Last Days recommence. resists the Truth in the same way as the magi resisted the miracles of Moses and Aaron. It tells us that they are' of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.'  These are strong words which tell us that they will be depraved and corrupted, and as far as faith in God is concerned they are unworthy, disapproved, impossible to stand the test of Godliness. This implies that before all men, they appear to proclaim Godliness.

So, what exactly does the Scripture mean when it says: 'Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth'.  These angelic powers counterfeited the actions of God, that is clear. So in that way, when The Last Days recommence,  unGodly, unworthy and disapproved men will counterfeit the Truth, that is the facts of God found only in The Scriptures. It does not say that they will counterfeit the coming actions of God, although that may be possible. There is one interesting point which is common to both the actions of the magi and the prophesied actions of  the ungodly men. Both actions are cut short by God's intervention.

The magi are able to counterfeit three actions of God's judgements, firstly Aaron's rod changed to a serpent, secondly the waters of the Nile turned to blood and finally the frogs introduced into all the intimate activities of the people of Egypt. Against this we are told that when the Last Days recommence, there will come a point in the actions counterfeiting The Truth when God will not allow these unGodly men to continue.

The Question arises:

1.  Can we gain Spiritual insight into the details of these coming actions of the fulfilment of The Truth and its counterfeit by these unGodly men ?

 2.  Further, can these actions in any way be enlightened by a deeper understanding of the counterfeited actions of God before Pharaoh ?

From the Scriptures, we know what God will do to re-establish the authority of His Children, the Tribes of Israel, as soon as The Last Days recommence. At the rebellion[1Kings 12:16-33], the twelve tribes were split into two groups. This was an act of God where the ten rebellious tribes gave allegiance to Jereboam the leader of the tribe of Ephraim. The two honourable tribes, Judah and Benjamin remained under king Rehoboam. In 680bc, God told Ephraim-Israel by the prophet Hosea, that the ten tribes would become 'Not my People' and be scattered in the world.  Much later in 62ad God Spiritually blinded and deafened Judah-Israel, the Jews, because of their lukewarm attitude to the introduction of His Kingdom.  God, in His mercy, will reverse these actions at the time when He sets up His Kingdom in Israel.

Firstly, He will reverse his action of Spiritual blindness and deafness imposed in 62ad[Acts 28:26-27], upon The House of Judah-Israel, the Jews by the prophesy of Paul the Apostle.

Isaiah 35:4

Secondly, He will no longer regard the House of Ephraim-Israel as 'Not my People', a condition imposed upon them in about 680bc[Hos 1:8-9] by the prophesy of Hosea.

and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, 'Ye are Not my People', there it shall be said to them 'Ye are the Sons of The Living God'. Hosea 1:10

Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.  And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.  And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali. For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.  And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.  And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.  I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.  And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth; And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.

And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.  Hosea 2:14

By this God will be telling the world that the twelve tribes of Israel are His Children. He will probably have to plead with the nations to 'Let my people go', because, as we have seen above,  Israel is at present scattered throughout the world and must return to their promised land before the Kingdom can be established with their King at the head.

To return to the question, Can this action in any way be equated to the first action of Moses before Pharaoh?

And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,  When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.  And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For they cast down each man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.  And he hardened Pharaoh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said. [Exodus 7:8]

Aaron's rod or staff was the symbol of his authority in relation to the tribes of Israel. In fact the Hebrew word for it contains also the meaning of 'tribe', especially that of the tribes of Israel. In the Old Testament times, Egypt was known as a type of the world. The Magi, by casting their staves down before Aaron and Moses were stating their authority over the tribes of the world. However, when the staves became serpents, the final authority of the tribe of Israel was demonstrated by Aaron's staff swallowing those of the magi.

This ultimate authority of Israel in the world, is stated in many ways and many places in the Scripture, but the action of the magi at the time of Moses, teaches us that at the time of the recommencement of The Last Days, when God again calls Ephraim-Israel 'His People' and grants Spiritual sight and hearing to Judah-Israel, we can expect to see God's action counterfeited by the authority of other tribes.

What other tribes would regard themselves as having such authority?

It is not difficult to perceive who the principle tribes will be.  Although the Children of Israel is the tribe chosen by God, both the tribes  of Ishmael and that of Esau believe that they have good reason to challenge God who chose

  1. Isaac before Ishmael his elder brother,

  2. Jacob before Esau his twin elder brother.

1.   Ishmael was the firstborn of Abraham. Normally the inheritance of the promises made to Abraham would have been his. However God had already determined that His promise of a son for Abraham would be honoured in due time and upon that son Isaac, would the birthright continue. This gave Ishmael cause for jealousy and hate against Isaac and his descendents. But God said:

And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. Genesis 17:20

Nevertheless, as we know to-day, the descendants of Ishmael, the Arab nations, desire only the death of Israel. In order to establish the continuity of this relationship, through his twelve sons:

Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham:  And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael,

Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:

These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.  Genesis 25:12

It is the descendants of these twelve sons who to-day confront Israel and the Jews worldwide.......Syria, Iran, The Palestinians, and all those who are influenced by the proposition that, if Israel is disposed of, they will inherit the promises made to him.

2.  Esau himself, became very bitter against his younger twin brother, Jacob/Israel.

He had lost his birthright when he gave it to Jacob  It included:

(1) the Father's blessing and supremacy, all those made to Abraham and Isaac including the covenant made by God with Abram in Genesis 13:18-20:

To thy seed I have given this land from the river of Egypt as far as the Great River, the river Euphrates..........The Kenite, and the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Rephaim, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Girgashite, and the Jebusite.

(2) A double portion

(3) The domestic priesthood

It came about in this way:

And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom ['red' after the red pottage]. And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?  And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.     GEN 25:30

Following this He lost his blessing as the elder son when Jacob deceived Isaac:

It was taken from Esau by subterfuge and by God's allowance, because Esau unfaithfully disregarded the authority of God Himself.  It came about in this way:

And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife

Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.  And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I.  And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death:  Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison;  And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.  And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son.

And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it.  And Rebekah spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying, Bring me venison, and make me savoury meat, that I may eat, and bless thee before the LORD before my death.  Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee.  Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make them savoury meat for thy father, such as he loveth:  And thou shalt bring it to thy father, that he may eat, and that he may bless thee before his death.

And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man:  My father peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing.  And his mother said unto him, Upon me be thy curse, my son: only obey my voice, and go fetch me them. And he went, and fetched, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made savoury meat, such as his father loved.

And Rebekah took goodly raiment of her eldest son Esau, which were with her  in the house, and put them upon Jacob her younger son:  And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the smooth of his neck:

And she gave the savoury meat and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob.  And he came unto his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I; who art thou, my son?  And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy first born; I have done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me.

And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me.  And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not.  And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.

And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau's hands: so he blessed him.  And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am.  And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat: and he brought him wine and he drank.  And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son.  And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him,

Here the deceit reaches its height, Abraham believing that it is Esau who has provided the savoury meat and the bread, gives Esau's blessing to Jacob saying:

See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD hath blessed

And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.

The plot is discovered and Esau is distraught

And Esau also had made savoury meat, and brought it unto his father, and said unto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, that thy soul may bless me.

And Isaac his father said unto him, Who art thou? And he said, I am thy son, thy firstborn Esau.  And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed.

And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.  And he said, Thy brother came with subtlety, and hath taken away thy blessing.

And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?

And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son?  And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father.

And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept. And Isaac his father answered and said unto him,

Isaac then gives what blessing he can to Esau

There follows Esau's expression of hatred of Jacob which has prevailed from that time forward

And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.

And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee.  Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran;  And tarry with him a few days, until thy brother's fury turn away;  Until thy brother's anger turn away from thee, and he forget that which thou hast done to him: then I will send, and fetch thee from thence: why should I be deprived also of you both in one day?   Genesis 26:34

Esau became a great nation by marrying the daughters of Canaan......the Hittite and the Hivitite women, and the daughter of Ishmael

Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom. Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite;  And Bashemath Ishmael's daughter, sister of Nebajoth.  Genesis 36:1

these are the sons of Esau, which were born unto him in the land of Canaan.  And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob. For their riches were more than that they might dwell together; and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle.

Moving away from Jacob, Esau came to dwell in Mount Seir, the land of  the Sons of Seir the Horite.

Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.  And these are the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in mount Seir:

These are the names of Esau's sons;

1.  Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau,And the sons of Eliphaz were

2.  And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son; and she bare to Eliphaz

these were the sons of Adah Esau's wife. See Psalm 83.

3.  Reuel the son of Bashemath the wife of Esau.

And these are the sons of Reuel;

these were the sons of Bashemath Esau's wife.

4.  And these were the sons of Aholibamah,

the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon, Esau's wife: and she bare to Esau

The scripture then repeats the names of all the sons of Esau, calling them dukes, thirteen in all with one addition, making fourteen, duke Korah, who presumably was not 'born unto him in the land of Canaan.'

These were dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn son of Esau;

duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz, Duke Korah, duke Gatam, and duke Amalek:

these are the dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these were the sons of Adah.

And these are the sons of Reuel Esau's son;

duke Nahath, duke Zerah, duke Shammah, duke Mizzah:

these are the dukes that came of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Bashemath Esau's wife.

And these are the sons of Aholibamah Esau's wife;

duke Jeush, duke Jaalam, duke Korah:

these were the dukes that came of Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau's wife.

These are the sons of Esau, who is Edom, and these are their dukes. [14 in all]

With this well detailed list, we might think that this would be all that was needed to define those that dwelt in the Mount Seir, i.e. The homeland of Esau. Not so!  The Scripture continues to put before us those that dwelt with the Dukes of Esau, the sons of Seir the Horite. The latter was descended from Cain. See the table below.  These two generations, that of Cain and Esau, are of the same mind, to utterly resist the plans and purposes of God. So the Scripture goes on to list the Horites:

GEN 36:20 These are the sons of Seir the Horite, who inhabited the land;  the dukes that came of the Horites;

these are the dukes that came of Hori, among their dukes in the land of Seir.

And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel.

And these are the names of the dukes that came of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names;

these be the dukes of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession: he is Esau the father of the Edomites.

This tediously long list of the family of The House of Esau and those with whom they dwelt, The Horites, is defined with great care in the Scripture. There is no greater generation except those which define that of The Lord Jesus Christ.

We might ask, why?

All these men and women are defined and accountable. They form the basis of the continuous opposition to the acts of God and The House of Israel. They chose to dwell with the remnant of the generation of Cain and  to form a united opposition to all that God purposes on this planet Earth. Together with Cain's generation, they form the basis of The Mystery of Iniquity.

Having now introduced the generation of Cain though their association with the generation of Esau, we must define the details of Cain's generation. This relationship has been hidden from students of The Word of God because of three major errors of interpretation:

There were Nephilim in the Earth in those days; and also after that, when the Sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown

Students of The Word of God have erroneously assumed that this passage tells us that The Nephilim are the children of The Sons of God.

Several classes of individual beings are referred to:   1.  The Nephilim,    2. The Sons Of God,    3. The daughters of Men,    4. children and    5. mighty men, men of renown.    One fact is grammatically clear........It  is The Sons of God that have children by the daughters of men. There is no doubt concerning that.

Where the general interpretation is incorrect is the assumption that 'the same' i.e. 'the children' refers to The Nephilim, whereas an honest reading relates the 'children' to the mighty men/the men of renown. Put simply, The Nephilim are stated to be present in the Earth when the Sons of God came in unto the daughters of men.  By this it is clear that The Nephilim are a separate class of individual, being present when The Sons of God came in.

This misinterpretation has been perpetuated by the translation of a corrupt passage in the Greek version of The Book of Enoch chapter VII verses 1 and 2.

From these points it is clear that The Nephilim, i.e. the Generation of Cain, occupied the Heavens, i.e. the planets of the solar system[see here] and returned to Earth before the time that the Sons of God sinned. We know that The Universal Flood was God's Judgement upon all mankind, cleansing The Earth of the genetic pollution caused by The Sons of God. The Nephilim also returned to Earth after The Flood, living amongst men and according to Scripture generating many tribes by different names such as: The Rephaim, the Zuzim, the Zamzuzim, the Horites, the Anakim etc. They dwelt in Mount Seir and were joined later by the generation of Esau, i.e. Edom.

The following chart shows Cain's family tree, concluding with that tribe which perpetuated his name, The Kenites[/yq].

To summarise:

1.   The Kenites were descended directly from the Horites.

2.   The Horites occupied Mount Seir.

3.   The Horites [Horim] were of the Nephilim.

4.   Seir was the home of the Edomites [Esau].

5.   The Edomites therefore lived with the descendents of Cain, the Nephilim.

Thus the tribes of Cain and Esau were joined in their opposition to God's people Israel together with the tribe of Ishmael:

    1.   Cain by his resentment and exile from the generation of Adam/Seth and

    2.   Esau/Edom by the loss of his birthright and blessing.

    3.   Ishmael is included because of the loss of his inheritance as firstborn.

The relationship between Cain and that of Esau has a number of parallels:

1.  They were both one of twins

2.  They were both the first born.

3.  They both experienced God's displeasure because of their sin.

4.  They both lost their inheritance.

5.  They both through devious and covert means seek that which they have lost.

Therefore in conclusion, we can recognise the Spiritual meaning of the actions of Moses and his opponents The Magi, before Pharaoh King of Egypt.  The tribe of Israel will overcome the opposition of those tribes which are determined on his downfall. The Scriptures confirm this action throughout the words of the prophets.  The chart that follows shows how the persistent jealousy and rebellion of the descendents of Esau and Ishmael have worked throughout the ages, covertly determined to undermine God's plan for Israel.

See this enlarged diagram

We now come to the consideration of the Spiritual meaning of the second action of Moses and the Magi before Pharaoh. God tells Moses to:

Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river's brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.

And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear.

Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.  And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.

And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.  And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the LORD had said  Exodus: Chapter 7.

The Scripture tells us that The river of Egypt is the Life of Egypt. That is so.....In satellite photographs, the growing of food in the irrigated land around the Nile is plainly seen in the green colour contrast to the adjascent sand coloured desert. The Life of God is found only in the blood of The sacrificed Lamb of God. Pharaoh is being shown that submission to the sacrificial blood is true Life, not dependency upon the waters of the Nile for the life of himself and the Egyptians..

The ceremonial formality of water baptism, or identification cannot give Life. Only the identification with the Lamb of God through the blood of His sacrifice can give True Life.

We now come to the consideration of the Spiritual meaning of the third action of Moses and the Magi before Pharaoh. God tells Moses after a further seven days:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.  And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs:  And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs:  And the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon thy people, and upon all thy servants.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.

And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.  And the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt. Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the LORD.

And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Glory over me: when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses, that they may remain in the river only?  And he said, To morrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word: that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the LORD our God.  And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy servants, and from thy people; they shall remain in the river only.

And Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh: and Moses cried unto the LORD because of the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh.  And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the villages, and out of the fields.  And they gathered them together upon heaps: and the land stank. But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.   Exo. 7:25

God allows frogs to infest the land and waters of Egypt. Frogs are symbolic of unclean or demonic spirits. If the land of Egypt were given over to these, the life of the Egyptians would be destroyed. Should this plague of demonic spirits be released in the world to-day, mankind would succumb to their power, even as the Egyptians were overcome by the frogs.

When The Last Days restart shortly God tells us that immediately prior to the manifestation of The Lord Jesus Christ there will be a flood of demonic activity:

When the enemy shall come in like a flood the Spirit of The Lord shall cause him to flee, and The Redeemer shall come to Zion and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith The Lord.   Isaiah 59: 19

Demonic activity is already present in many activities in the Church of Rome, the Pentecostal Church and other churches having a chrasmatic character. Because of the subtilty of this activity, the christians in these churches mistakenly accept it as that of The Sanctifying Spirit of God.

We are told of this flood of demonic activity by the apostle Paul when he writes his second letter to Timothy:

This know that in The Last Days perilous times shall come.

The meaning of the Greek word for 'perilous' [chalepos] is directly associated with demonic activity as described in Matthew's  gospel ch.8 v.28.

We now come to the consideration of the Spiritual meaning of the fourth action of Moses and Aaron before the Magi and Pharaoh.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt. And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast.

Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.  Exodus 8:16

The Magi with their secret arts were unable to copy God's action turning the dust to lice and were thereby forced to admit that they were facing actions of God. Their copying could proceed no further.

Paul tells us that in The Last Days, following the copying of God's activity, the demonic activity will come to an abrupt end, even as the secret arts of the Magi were halted at the time of Moses:

Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

Paul draws our attention to this period [Ephesians 5:13-14] in which the prophet Isaiah, talking to the Jews, The House of Judah, describes the reintroduction of The Last Days.

For God puts on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.  According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence. So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun.

When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

    1.   And the Redeemer shall come to Zion,

    2.   and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.

As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.  For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.  And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.    ISA 59:17

What more can be said, but that we should look forward with joy to that day when our righteous God again intervenes in the affairs of His people to establish His Kingdom in Israel.
